Job Summary:
The Buyer will handle the purchase of raw materials, tools, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies, and ensure quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Issue all purchase orders for commodities within responsibility, and monitor open purchase orders within ERP system
- Verify that all orders have been properly acknowledged by the vendor, and follow up with the vendor on all past due orders
- Source products from reliable vendors, focusing on quality, delivery, and cost, and meeting material requirements/specifications
- Manage vendor relationships successfully by building strong partnerships, negotiating competitive terms, and tracking performance metrics to ensure timely delivery and high quality
- Track and maintain proper levels of stocked inventory
- Provide Account Management Team with reliable material quotes
- Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives for department
- Handle any material needs for other Monti Inc. sites that have been assigned to you
- Assist in the returning of Rejected material to the vendor
- Evaluate procurement data and monitor key supply chain metrics
- Complete other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Preferred 1-3 years minimum experience in a Buyer or similar Supply Chain role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to cooperate with team members/leaders
- Strong people skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites or related software
- Positive attitude, goal-oriented, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Dependable, flexible, and ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in material management, business management or work equivalent
- Engineering and/or manufacturing background helpful
Physical Requirements:
- Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dirt, dust, and mobile equipment
- Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day
- Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work
- Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time
- Simultaneously mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area
