Position Overview: 

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily execution of maintenance activities at ERock's McCloud Power Station in El Paso, TX. This individual will provide frontline leadership to maintenance technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production priorities. The Maintenance Supervisor will partner closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Planning to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead daily maintenance operations for assigned shifts, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. 
  • Conduct start-of-shift meetings to review safety topics, work assignments, maintenance priorities, schedule changes, and operational updates. 
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities with the Maintenance Planner, balancing preventive maintenance, corrective work orders, available resources, and production priorities. 
  • Assign work based on technician skill level, qualifications, workload, and business needs while ensuring employees clearly understand job expectations and hazards. 
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor by providing coaching, guidance, and field leadership throughout the shift. 
  • Perform routine job observations and quality audits to verify work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with company procedures. 
  • Review and authorize safe work permits within assigned authority, ensuring hazards, PPE requirements, and job scope are properly identified prior to work execution. 
  • Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other energy isolation requirements are properly implemented and consistently followed. 
  • Monitor work progress, resolve maintenance issues, adjust priorities as needed, and communicate schedule changes with Operations and Production leadership. 
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures while supporting root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to improve equipment reliability. 
  • Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians while managing employee performance, attendance, safety, and accountability in partnership with Human Resources. 
  • Promote a strong safety culture through regular coaching, hazard recognition, compliance with company policies, and continuous reinforcement of safe work practices. 
  • Document completed work, outstanding maintenance items, equipment concerns, and shift turnover information to ensure effective communication across teams. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance processes, equipment uptime, reliability, and overall plant performance. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

 

Basic (Required) Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred. 
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment. 
  • 2+ years of experience leading maintenance technicians or frontline maintenance teams. 
  • Experience coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. 
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial equipment systems. 
  • Experience utilizing CMMS or maintenance management software. 
  • Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), safe work permitting, and industrial safety practices. 
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation. 
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or off-shift support as business needs require. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience within power generation, heavy industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities, or rotating equipment. 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles. 
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Supervisory experience supporting high-growth manufacturing operations. 
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
