Description

Founded in 1869, the San Francisco Yacht Club maintains one of the country's finest yachting facilities.


Compensation and Benefits: The hourly range is $25 - $27 per hour (D.O.E.) plus Service Charges averaging +$30 per hour.

Summary of Position:

Servers create the very best member experience in our bar areas by providing professional, knowledgeable, and warm service to all members and their guests.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Competencies, knowledge, and Expectations

  •  Greet and acknowledge members and guests.
  •  Knowledgeable about the popular and traditional cocktails, including recipes and ingredients.
  •  Learns members’ names and their special preferences.
  •  Knowledge of wines, beer and spirits.
  •  Able to meet all service standards and expectations.

Job Tasks/Duties

  •  Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available
  •  Restock additional supplies as necessary
  •  Follows set-up procedures
  •  Prepares garnishes and mixes
  •  Mixes, prepares and serves drinks according to the recipes approved by the F&B Manager
  •  Accurately charges for drinks served
  •  Reports complaints to a manager as soon as they occur
  •  Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment
  •  Maintains records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure par stock is maintained at all times
  •  Cleans and lock-ups according to prescribed procedures
  •  Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
  •  Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
  •  Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
  •  Performs other appropriate duties assigned.
Requirements

QUALITIES, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  •  Grade 12 education.
  •  Six years of comparable bartender experience preferred.
  •  The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
  •  The ability to read, speak and understand English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  •  Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
  •  Continuous repetitive motions.
  •  Work inside and outdoors in a variety of weather, including hot, humid and noisy environment.
