Maintenance Technician - Class A (1st Shift) - Automotive Manufacturing

   **This position is for 1st shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)**


Summary

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment, while identifying and addressing potential safety hazards and following company safety procedures and reporting processes to help maintain a safe, reliable, and efficient operation.


Functions


Job Specific Responsibilities

· Make safety a top priority by proactively identifying potential safety hazards, taking immediate corrective action when possible, and promptly reporting and communicating unresolved issues in accordance with the company’s safety reporting process.

· Diagnose and repair a wide range of production and facility equipment with minimal supervision.

· Maintain a complete personal toolbox and demonstrate working knowledge of tool room equipment and precision measuring instruments.

· Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.

· Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment to restore proper operation.

· Inspect parts and equipment for defects, wear, and failure points, and support root cause troubleshooting to prevent repeat issues.

· Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery and equipment to meet operational requirements.

· Test and verify repaired machinery and equipment to confirm safe operation and adequacy of repairs.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, inventory, and completed work orders.

· Lead advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts associated with complex equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.

· Provide technical guidance, training, and support to maintenance team members as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position (40 hours per week). Overtime may be required.

Requirements

  

Eligibility Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Maintenance technician certification, technical training, or equivalent experience preferred.

· Previous machining or machinist experience is a plus.

· Must have personal tools and a toolbox suitable for daily maintenance work.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents.

· Ability to perform TIG and MIG welding is preferred.

· Hands-on experience with manual, semi-automated, and automated tools and machines, including lathes, grinders, and related equipment.

· Basic computer proficiency required; experience with Outlook, Plex, or similar maintenance/production systems is a plus.

· Strong working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

· Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing issues with CNC lathes and mills.

· Experience with APC repair is preferred.

· Extensive knowledge of CNC controls and related troubleshooting methods.

· Experience with Fanuc robots is a plus.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks

· Physical stamina for production work


Work Environment 

· Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and temperature changes. PPE required
