General Manager
Description

This position is responsible for leading, developing and growing a safe, efficient, and profitable hazardous and radioactive waste facility. This is a salaried, exempt position.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Hire, Mentor, Challenge, and Retain facility staff

· Set Challenging Facility and Personnel Goals, hold staff accountable for results

· Direct operations activities of the facility to achieve budget and profitability goals.

· Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and internal quality assurance procedures. Ensure compliance with Permit and licenses).

· Maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies.

· Monitor and support all sales and customer relations.

· Ascertain employee training needs and development.

· Maintain an accident-free environment.

· Control expenses and budget to ensure profitability; approve all purchases and expenses internally up to $25,000; approve and sign monthly and quarterly financial reports. 

· Support strategic planning.

· Manage up to 60 employees; approve timesheets for exempt employees. 

· Travel as required.

· Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

· Proven Leadership, Teamwork, and Communications Skills 

· Needs broad knowledge and experience in RCRA and TSCA regulations, radiation protection, OSHA standards and regulations with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the radioactive waste industry. Radiological Safety Training: 24hr Hazardous Materials Training required. 

· Need a high level of planning and organizational skills. 

· Must be able to lead and motivate employees.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Special training required: Rad Worker and RCRA training.

· Certifications: OSHA Hazwoper TSD Worker.

· B.S. degree in Chemistry or Engineering, or B.A. degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.


Will work in an office-type environment approximately 60% of the day, other 40% being in industrial-type facility where there is potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust, and hot and cold temperatures. Sitting, walking, and walking on uneven surfaces, and occasionally lifting and/or climbing with or without reasonable accommodation is a daily requirement with this position.
