Our work varies from one job to the next, giving our employees the opportunity to work on challenging projects and continually build their skills.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Assembly Technician to work on complex mechanical assembly projects in our custom manufacturing environment.
This is a skilled, hands-on position for someone who can work independently from prints, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and take complex assemblies from start to finish. The Senior Mechanical Assembly Technician also serves as a technical resource and mentor to less-experienced team members.
What You'll Do
- Independently complete complex mechanical assembly work on custom customer projects from prints and other production documentation.
- Assemble and install mechanical components and systems, which may include gearboxes, motors, bearings, shafts, drives, drums, pneumatic or hydraulic components, and other customer-specific equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and other production documentation to determine assembly requirements and proper component installation.
- Determine appropriate assembly methods and sequence of work based on prints, job requirements, and the components being installed.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical fit, alignment, installation, and assembly issues and resolve problems within the scope of the job.
- Identify print, design, missing-part, or other issues that require additional support and work with the Lead, Supervisor, Engineering, Quality, or other departments to resolve them.
- Verify components are assembled and installed correctly according to prints, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment required to complete assembly work.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor less-experienced Mechanical Assembly team members.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
