Position Summary:

Provides support to financial institution and its SVP Compliance Officer in overseeing the compliance of laws and regulations as they apply to loan side of the financial institution. Implement, at the direction of and subject to the supervision of the SVP Compliance Officer action plans, policies and procedures in order to provide the highest quality of compliance support for First Farmers Bank & Trust.


  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide ongoing monitoring to ensure that the institution is complying with federal and state regulation, said monitoring including but not limited to, performing, as well as memorializing in writing, reviews, as well as, with the approval of the SVP Compliance Officer, implementing corrections to technical or systemic errors 
  • Provide support for the internal and independent auditors to ensure that compliance issues are identified and adequately addressed
  • Provide assistance to independent auditors while on site. Gather documents and reports as requested
  • Assist in reviewing and revising the institutions forms and disclosures for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Work with SVP Compliance Officer in developing contracts, forms, and/or disclosures that meet the needs of the institution and comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the loan side
  • Assist in developing (and/or updating) a comprehensive training program to address the institution’s compliance policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and/or state regulatory requirements pertaining to compliance
  • Assist in providing reports to the audit committee as submitted by the federal and state regulatory agency and the independent auditors, as well as management’s response
  • Responsible for the update training of departments on loan related items 
  • Assist the CRA Officer with CRA-related projects
  • Pull reports for the CRA Officer related to lending activities 
  • All other job duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of banking experience 
  • Ability to participate in community engagement activities with the compliance team 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting on data
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation 
  • Experience working in lending 

Skills

  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Experience presenting in front of small to large groups of people 
  • Excellent documentation, organization, and attention to detail

Work Environment  

  • Primarily office or branch-based environment with standard business hours. Occasional travel to other branch locations or community events may be required
  • Daily extended use of banking software, secure digital platforms, and standard office equipment
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
