ElkStone is looking for a consultant, design-minded Remodel Sales Designer to turn qualified leads into beautifully designed, profitable remodel projects. This role owns the client relationship from first contact through a signed contract—listening closely, designing thoughtfully, and presenting clear, accurate proposals that set every project up for success.
What You’ll Do
Consultative Sales & Client Experience
- Respond to new leads within 4 business hours and guide prospects from first contact through a signed contract.
- Qualify prospects, understand their goals, budget, and risk tolerance, and adapt your approach to each client’s communication (DiSC) style.
- Maintain at least weekly communication with each active prospect, uncovering true objections and working toward a clear “yes” or “no.”
- Conduct in-home consultations and proposal presentations, and arrange for clients to sign proposals in person or online.
Design & Proposal Development
- Create remodel designs that meet clients’ functional needs and aesthetic goals within their budget.
- Accurately quote materials, labor, and fees within ElkStone’s estimating standards and margin targets.
- Prepare and present clear, complete proposals—designs, scopes of work, allowances, and pricing.
Collaboration & Handoff
- Partner with Project Managers on pre-proposal job walks, demo and preconstruction meetings, and change orders.
- Provide clear notes and documentation so the admin and operations teams can schedule and process jobs accurately.
- Support the PM and admin team with proposal- and design-related questions throughout the project.
- Develop networking and referral relationships to expand ElkStone’s brand presence among clients, realtors, designers, and trade partners. See offer letter to create a new job description
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in consultative, in-home, or design-build/remodeling sales (residential remodeling strongly preferred).
- A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and closing ratios in a consultative, commission-based environment.
- Working knowledge of residential construction processes, materials, and terminology; ability to read and interpret plans and design documents.
- A strong design sense and the ability to create remodel solutions within a client’s budget.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills—clear, confident, and professional in person, in writing, and visually.
- A natural networker who builds trust and rapport quickly with homeowners, realtors, designers, and trade partners.
- Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) design/CAD and estimating software and Microsoft Office; comfort with CRM and web-based systems.
- Experience with behavioral/communication tools (such as DiSC) is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client appointments and job walks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Guaranteed base salary during the initial training period, transitioning to a commission-based structure
- Uncapped commission with strong earning potential (target minimum $120,000+ annually)
- 401(k) with 4% company match
- Company-subsidized health insurance (vision & dental optional)
- $25,000 company-paid life insurance
- Company-provided laptop with design/CAD and proprietary software
Schedule
- Full-time, with a flexible schedule built around client appointments
