We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and hands-on regional Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support operations across skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities throughout Oregon. This role serves as a trusted advisor to facility and regional leadership, providing expertise in employee relations, talent management, organizational development, workforce planning, compliance, and leadership coaching.

About the Role
The HRBP partners closely with operational and clinical leaders to align people strategies with business objectives across multiple skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. Acting as a consultant, coach, and subject matter expert, the HRBP helps drive workforce initiatives that improve employee engagement, retention, leadership effectiveness, and organizational performance while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
This position collaborates with Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Compliance, and Operations teams to provide proactive HR support and strategic guidance throughout the region.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with leaders across facilities in Oregon to support workforce planning and people strategies.
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, performance management, compliance, and workforce development.
- Coach leaders through complex employee situations and organizational challenges.
- Lead workplace investigations and support fair, consistent decision-making.
- Drive leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Travel regularly throughout Oregon to build relationships and provide on-site support to facility leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to facility administrators and regional leaders on workforce planning, employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with leadership teams to align HR strategies with operational goals and business objectives.
- Assess workforce trends and recommend solutions that support facility performance and employee experience.
- Support organizational change initiatives and drive adoption of company programs and strategic priorities.
- Use workforce data and key metrics to identify opportunities and support business decisions.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, investigations, conflict resolution, terminations, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct thorough, objective, and timely investigations, recommending appropriate resolutions and corrective actions.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Ensure consistency and compliance across facilities regarding HR practices, documentation, and employment processes.
- Partner with leadership to foster positive employee relations and a respectful workplace culture.
Leadership Coaching & Development
- Coach leaders on employee management, communication, conflict resolution, accountability, and leadership effectiveness.
- Identify development opportunities and support leadership growth initiatives.
- Facilitate training and educational programs for managers and facility HR personnel.
- Support talent reviews, succession planning, and employee development programs.
HR Operations
- Provide consultation and support on HR functions including onboarding, retention, benefits administration, workforce reporting, payroll coordination, and recruiting support.
- Partner with facility HR staff to ensure consistent execution of HR programs and policies.
- Train and mentor facility HR personnel on company procedures, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Support HRIS reporting and workforce analytics efforts.
Benefits, Leave Management & Workers' Compensation
- Partner with Benefits and Risk Management teams to support employee benefits programs and annual open enrollment activities.
- Oversee workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
- Provide guidance on ADA accommodations, FMLA, protected leaves, and disability management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations and internal policies related to employee leave programs.
Projects & Organizational Support
- Lead and participate in cross-functional HR initiatives and special projects.
- Analyze workforce trends and develop recommendations to improve retention, engagement, and workforce stability.
- Support acquisitions, transitions, and other organizational initiatives as assigned.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance the employee experience and business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, workplace investigations, and performance management processes.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience partnering with leaders to solve workforce and organizational challenges.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Oregon, including occasional overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regional travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Multi-site Human Resources experience.
- Healthcare, post-acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing experience.
- Experience supporting leadership development, organizational change, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Experience with HRIS systems and workforce reporting tools.
