Description

The Program Manager of Compeer Chester County plans and administers a community-based, all-volunteer support service connecting adults in mental health recovery in friendships with caring, trained volunteers while increasing socialization. In addition, this individual delivers services designed to promote stability, recovery, and community integration for adults with mental health challenges. The Program Manager operationalizes MHP’s and Compeer’s Mission and Vision statements following Compeer International’s service model. 


This is a hybrid/remote position. Candidates must reside in the Chester County Area. This position is a 7 hour/day, 35/hour work week. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, with flexibility between the hours of 8:00AM - 5:00PM. The salary range for this position will be between $52,000 - 54,500 annually

Requirements
  •  Recruit, match and retain volunteers and people in recovery. 
  • Interview, screen, train, and support matched friends. 
  • Educate and encourage adults in recovery and their mental health professionals to consider Compeer, gaining the necessary referrals and making Compeer part of their recovery program. 
  • Provide support to pending referrals through interim Compeer services before one-to-one matching happens, using newsletters, events, phone calls, e-mails, etc., to provide support and involvement. 
  • Provide ongoing “in-reach” with roughly 85 program participants (including volunteers), e-mail, phone calls, newsletters, personal contact and social networking. 
  • Engage in community outreach to increase ChesCo Compeer’s visibility in the community and generate referrals and partnerships. 
  • Assist Division Director with the development and management of program budget. 
  • Ensure planning and implementation of all participant services. 
  • Maintain good working relationships with outside agencies. 
  • Responsible for the intake/referral process of new participants. 
  • Review/approve all enrolling and closing of participants. 
  • Adjust service as requirements change. 

SUPERVISION & LEADERSHIP 

  • Conduct regular supervisory meetings with the Compeer Program Coordinator. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to Compeer’s Advisory Council members, all of whom may assist with many of the core duties. 
  • Conceive, plan and stage Compeer’s quarterly county-wide events, Advisory Council meetings and special programs with other MH/IDD organizations. 
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with program funders and governing authorities while actively networking and supporting the identification and development of new opportunities to expand MHP services and strengthen community partnerships throughout the county. 
  • Maintain financial reporting and assist in writing grants to obtain additional funding. 
  • Conduct outreach using public relations and marketing strategies to educate and promote Compeer throughout Chester County. Tools and techniques include the Internet in the form of websites, social media, e-mail, public speaking engagements at religious and community organizations, local businesses, schools, colleges, and other media outlets. 

PROFESSIONAL 

  • Contribute to MHP long-term strategies and projects. 
  • Recommend best practices to address internal and/or external challenges to the services provided. 
  • Develop innovative services and/or processes and provide guidance in solving complex problems that may impact Compeer ChesCo services. 
  • Manage projects with moderate resource requirements, and monitor and control project related costs. 

ADMINISTRATIVE 

  • Execute activities related to assigned area, and oversee work activities to ensure effective service delivery and data quality. 
  • Interface routinely and effectively with Chester County MH/IDD officials, providing performance data, dialogue and an accurate picture of service delivery and unmet need. 
  • Ensure adherence with all accreditation, certification and regulatory standards. 
  • In collaboration with Division Director, review, develop and implement services for unmet needs. 
  • Establish efficient work processes, and produce agreed upon reports for senior management, including: 
  • Review and revise forms, manuals and guides of the program, and staff policy and procedures as necessary 
  • Respond to or assist other services of MHP as necessary 
  • Notify Division Director, in a timely way, of any problems or concerns 
  • Ensure staff understands regulations and procedures and receives ongoing development 
  • Provide data for written reports requested by city, state, or federal funding sources. 
  • Report any activities that may violate established laws, regulations, policies or procedures. Raise questions about any actions contrary to law or policy taken by another staff member, employee or yourself and report the matter to division director or to the VP of Compliance and/or Human Resources. 
  • Must exemplify and model the mission of MHP building hope and promoting the well-being of people in recovery through innovative peer-centered advocacy, learning and services.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP’s mission.
