START Coordinator (Full-Time)

Join our interdisciplinary team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disability and mental health needs. As a START Coordinator, you will deliver and coordinate START clinical services for an assigned caseload, applying the nationally recognized START (Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment) Model. In this role, you will collaborate with people enrolled, families, providers, and systems of care to strengthen supports, promote stability and well-being, prevent crises, and reduce reliance on emergency and inpatient services.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver and coordinate START clinical services for an assigned caseload, including biopsychosocial assessment, outreach, training, and system-level intervention.
• Facilitate cross-system collaboration with families, residential, day, and health care providers, and other system members to strengthen shared understanding of the person and enhance system capacity.
• Guide systems in developing and implementing individualized, proactive crisis-prevention and intervention strategies grounded in START principles.
• Participate in rotational 24/7 on-call coverage to support crisis response, comprehensive assessment, and disposition planning.
• Develop and maintain START required tools, assessments, and documentation (e.g., Assessments, START Plans, and Cross-System Crisis Prevention and Intervention Plans) in accordance with model fidelity, program standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Enter accurate, timely data into the START Information Reporting System (SIRS).
• Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and fidelity-driven practice improvement to ensure high-quality evidence-informed START service delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree* in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related human service field.
• At least 2 years of experience working with people with IDD and MH needs and their families.
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to navigate complex systems, collaborate across disciplines, and work effectively with diverse teams and individuals with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability and commitment to complete START Coordinator Certification within 12 months of hire.

*A bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years of experience working with people with IDD and MH needs may be considered.
