Swiss CNC Machinist (Setup & Operate)
Description

Swiss CNC Machinist

First Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Opportunity for overtime

Clean, climate-controlled facility

About the Role
You'll set up and run Citizen Swiss machines producing parts for aerospace, medical, and defense customers; work where a few tenths of a thousandth matter. You do your own setups, hold tight tolerances, and catch problems before they leave your machine.

What You'll Run

  • Citizen Swiss machines: tooling, bar stock loading, program verification
  • Complex parts to ±0.001" or tighter
  • Drilling, grooving, turning, threading, finishing

Setup & First Article

  • Set up jobs start to finish, verify repeatability before releasing to production
  • Make minor G-code/CAM edits when needed (full programming not required)
  • Flag manufacturability issues to engineering before they become scrap

Keeping It Running

  • Diagnose and fix machining issues fast, minimize downtime
  • Dial in offsets, feeds, and speeds for cycle time without sacrificing quality
  • Maintain tooling for consistent performance and finish

Quality & Paperwork

  • Read blueprints and GD&T without hand-holding
  • Run your own inspection: micrometers, calipers, bore gauges
  • Keep setup sheets and inspection records complete — AS9100 standard

On the Floor

  • Clear handoffs when a part is done, nothing sits.
  • Speak up when you see a better way to run a job or a setup

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years Swiss CNC setup and operation (Citizen strongly preferred)
  • Comfortable holding ±0.001" or tighter, consistently
  • Strong blueprint/GD&T reading
  • Confident with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges
  • Know your feeds, speeds, and tooling well enough to troubleshoot on the fly
  • Reliable: shows up, communicates, owns the work
  • Mitsubishi controls or PartMaker: a plus, not required
  • Can stand for a shift and lift up to 50 lbs

What Good Looks Like

  • Setups pass first-article the first time
  • Your machine runs with minimal downtime or rework
  • Parts move without you being the bottleneck
  • Your paperwork is done and accurate, not chased down later
  • People trust you with the hard setups

About Helix Linear
Helix Linear Technologies designs and manufactures high-precision motion control systems for industries where performance matters most, including aerospace, medical devices, defense, and advanced automation. Our products power mission-critical applications where reliability and precision down to ±0.0001 inches make all the difference.

Our vision is to engineer what's possible in motion, with precision, integrity, and purpose. We pursue that vision by designing, machining, grinding, and assembling critical motion components in-house, including precision ball screws and linear systems. Our clean, climate-controlled facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing equipment including Citizen Swiss lathes, multi-axis CNC mills, precision grinders, and specialized assembly and test systems.

Helix is growing and investing in new equipment, advanced processes, the people and the systems required to scale with discipline. As we expand, we're building a world-class precision manufacturing operation, which means higher standards for ownership, communication, urgency, and accountability across every role on the floor.

Machinists here are not button-pushers, they are skilled craftsmen and problem-solvers who take pride in their work and ownership of the quality of every part that leaves their machine.
