Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the bartending team in all aspects of bar service. The barback plays a key role in maintaining organization, cleanliness, and proper stock levels to ensure efficient and consistent service. This is a hands-on support role and an opportunity to develop foundational knowledge of craft cocktails, spirits, wine, and bar operations in a highvolume, quality-driven environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists bartending staff in the execution of daily bar service
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and proper setup of all bar areas
- Stocks and restocks bar items including glassware, ice, garnishes, napkins, and tools
- Polishes glassware and bar equipment to maintain presentation standards
- Cuts and prepares fruit and herbs for use in cocktails for daily service
- Assists with receiving, organizing, and stocking bar deliveries
- Supports bartenders with service needs, including pouring beer and wine when required
- Assists with bar set-up and breakdown, ensuring consistency with Campo standards
- Helps maintain appropriate inventory levels and communicates shortages to management
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws related to alcohol service
- Assists in espresso-based beverage preparation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Clean bars, work areas, and service stations
- Clean and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
- Stock bar and service areas with necessary supplies
- Transport and replenish ice throughout service
- Support bar service by anticipating bartender needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout service
- Communicate effectively with bartenders and service team to ensure smooth operations
- 1–2 years prior experience as a barback, busser, or server assistant in an upscale or high-volume environment
- Genuine interest in food and beverage, with a desire to learn cocktail production and bar operations
- Energy, enthusiasm, and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Ability to take direction and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for 8–10 hours per shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- BarSmarts certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred:
- Prior restaurant experience in FOH support roles
- Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art, and architecture
