Overview

The Cruiser / Destroyer Combat Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet (CNSP) as part of the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The RATT provides direct, Sailor-centric training and technical assistance to surface ships to improve technical proficiency, material condition, organic capability, and overall readiness.


The Cruiser / Destroyer Combat Systems SME provides expert-level technical guidance and hands-on support for AEGIS and associated shipboard combat systems. Working directly with shipboard personnel, the SME helps strengthen technical knowledge, troubleshoot combat systems and interface issues, improve operations and maintenance practices, and enhance overall combat systems readiness.


Location

San Diego, CA, with extensive travel in support of shipboard RATT visits throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations 

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience with the technical aspects of operating and maintaining the AEGIS Combat System suite 
  • Experience comparable to that of an AEGIS Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM) 
  • Direct operational and maintenance experience with: 
    • AEGIS Combat System suite 
    • U.S. Navy sonar systems 
    • Vertical Launching System (VLS) 
    • Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) 
    • Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems 
    • SPY radar systems 
  • Extensive technical experience with the operation and maintenance of U.S. Navy network and communications systems, supporting systems, and their interfaces with associated shipboard systems 
  • Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five years with U.S. Navy electronic warfare and countermeasures systems currently employed in the Fleet 
  • Ability and willingness to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel for shipboard RATT visits

Security Clearance

  • Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance

Salary Description
$100,000 - $140,000
