POSITION SUMMARY 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment within a high-volume aluminum die casting and machining facility. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and ensure consistent production of high-quality parts. 

Maintenance Technicians work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability. This position plays a critical role in maintaining uptime of die cast machines, CNC equipment, robotics, and auxiliary systems while adhering to all safety and environmental standards. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Perform emergency machine repairs and rebuild machinery as needed plant wide. 
  • Diagnose and read electrical, pneumatic schematics, understand symbols, and take corrective action. 
  • Understand PLC operation and use of PLC interface to diagnose problems. 
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting with CNC's. 
  • Troubleshooting Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical. 
  • Troubleshooting automation and robotics. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS  


Heavy Manufacturing Environment.  MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic.? These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. ?The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy.  In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.?  


PHYSICAL DEMANDS 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.? The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.? The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 


Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis. 


Technical school diploma in related field and/or at least one (1) year maintenance experience or High School Diploma with at least 5 years maintenance experience. 


LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, write, and understand English. 

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.  


JOB SKILLS 

Ability to work unsupervised or to supervise small groups. 

Strong knowledge of TPM activities. 

Excellent organizational skills. 

Excellent communication skills.
