HVAC Maintenance Tech (Fairbury)
Description

Hey there! We're Edelman, and we're looking for a Residential HVAC Maintenance Tech Rockstar to join our team.

At Edelman, we believe in creating comfortable, safe spaces for our customers while providing a supportive atmosphere where you can actually advance your career. If you take pride in doing the small things right and want a clear path into a full HVAC service career, you're in the right place.

You Should Apply If:

  • You're a Detail-Oriented Expert. You take pride in the small things, from a perfect filter change to a spotless coil.
  • You're a Communication Pro. You enjoy educating homeowners and helping them understand what keeps their system running well.
  • You're a Lifelong Learner. You're excited about hitting your 20 hours of training a year to build toward wiring diagrams, soldering, and troubleshooting.
  • You're Independent & Reliable. You're ready to hop in your company vehicle and manage your dispatched maintenance visits with precision.
  • You're a Professional. You show up on time, maintain a sharp appearance, and represent the Edelman name with pride.

You Shouldn't Apply If:

  • Extreme weather, tight crawlspaces, or the occasional attic spider makes you want to call it quits.
  • You aren't comfortable discussing maintenance agreements and product options with customers.
  • You prefer a "lone wolf" style that ignores instructions from dispatch or supervisors.

Your Daily Mission:

  • The On-Site Pro: Arrive at scheduled appointments to perform routine maintenance tune-ups, safety inspections, and high-quality filter changes.
  • Customer Education: Walk homeowners through what you found during the visit and inform them about maintenance agreements and products that keep their system running longer.
  • Skill Development: Build your foundation in electrical and refrigeration principles, basic wiring, and system components — the groundwork for advancing into full service work.
  • Precision Reporting: Complete every maintenance checklist thoroughly and communicate clearly with dispatch to keep the day on schedule.
  • Safety First: Operate your company vehicle safely and use tools/ladders with a focus on "Zero Accidents" standards.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • The Experience: Some HVAC experience required — completion of a technical training program or HVAC coursework is a plus, and we'll train the right attitude.
  • The Credentials: EPA Certified (or ready to get it within 3 months) and a valid driver's license.
  • The Hustle: Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and handle the physical demands of bending, crawling, and climbing in varied weather.
  • The Drive: A commitment to passing drug and background screens and a hunger for continuous professional development.

Why Edelman?

  • Competitive Pay: $20–$30 per hour depending on experience, plus bonuses.
  • Career Advancement: This role is your on-ramp — we'll help you develop the skills to move from maintenance into high-level service.
  • Stability: A consistent schedule with a supportive team that has your back.
  • A "World Class" Culture: Work for a company that values quality work and respects the heartbeat of the business — the technicians.
