Job Description:
This role supports Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) and Supply Support functions for the Navy’s Vertical Launching System (VLS) program. The ideal candidate will bring foundational knowledge of U.S. Navy supply processes and logistics and will receive training to grow into the role. The position focuses on maintaining logistics data, supporting lifecycle documentation, coordinating with Navy and contractor stakeholders, and helping manage inventory through Navy enterprise systems.
Primary Responsibilities
• Define system supportability requirements and evaluate program documentation for logistics impacts.
• Coordinate and interface with NSWC PHD, other government activities, and contractor offices for meetings, schedules, milestones, and product deliveries.
• Contribute to the preparation of long-range program and project plans and analyze available data for impacts on schedules and milestones.
• Review, track, compile, and input logistics data into various databases, systems, and applications.
• Review and evaluate logistical impacts and incorporate updates into program documents.
• Participate in logistics working groups and integrated product teams supporting development of logistics products.
• Conduct research to identify applicable policies and procedures related to Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) requirements.
• Support life-cycle management of technical documentation.
• Use the Navy Enterprise Inventory Database (currently N-ERP) to perform inventory and warehouse management tracking through material masters.
Minimum Qualifications
• Foundational experience with U.S. Navy supply, logistics, inventory management, or related Navy support functions.
• Ability to compile, review, and input logistics data into databases or tracking systems.
• Basic understanding of logistics documentation and program support activities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn Navy logistics systems, program requirements, and technical documentation processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct experience supporting NSWC Port Hueneme Division or other Navy program offices.
• Familiarity with Navy enterprise systems such as N-ERP (or other Navy inventory/warehouse systems).
• Exposure to Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) processes.
• Experience reviewing logistics products and supporting integrated product teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, supply chain, or a related field.
• Prior experience supporting Navy lifecycle documentation or logistics product development.
• Active Secret clearance.
Security Clearance:
Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government- granted security clearance.
