Liberty Vote is a nationwide technology company that develops cutting-edge and innovative election solutions and systems (hardware & software) which are utilized by over 1,200 jurisdictions in North America.
We are searching for Onsite Elections Technicians to assist with the November 2026 election in New Jersey. This will be a temporary position with training the week of October 12th and onsite work from October 31-November 4. In this role, you will support the operation and repair of our products & systems, provide onsite election support services, and interface with customers, colleagues, and election officials. You will play a critical role in ensuring fair, accessible, and secure elections!
Timeline/Dates (Tentative timeline - subject to change)
· Online training via Zoom the week of October 12th
· Customer assignments sent out by the end of October
· Travel to customer location on October 30th
· Onsite customer-specific training October 31st to November 1st (Depending on customer, not applicable to all contractors)
· Report onsite to customer November 2nd
· Report onsite for election support November 3rd
Responsibilities:
- Provides customer support on-site and via telephone or email as scheduled and as needed for:
- Onsite support of all voting system components.
- Onsite repair of all voting system components.
- Ancillary election activities as required.
- Documents and reports all anomalies and issues encountered for all hardware and software products.
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal rules and regulations that pertain to the operation of election systems.
- Ensures compliance with product warranty requirements and forecasts parts requirements.
- Identifies and describes product issues to contribute to ongoing product development.
- Develops proficiency in the use, maintenance, repair, and application across DVS products.
- Maintain a positive rapport with election officials, poll workers, customer staff.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in the elections or other technology industry with the experience of maintenance and/or operation of voting systems or other IT equipment is a plus.
- Experience working directly with customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical hardware and software skills.
- Strong organizational skills to include multi-tasking and time management skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the election operations and election systems preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of general database applications and the interaction of those applications with external systems.
- High degree of accuracy with details and good recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and certification authorities.
- Ability to establish and maintain business relationships with customers.
- Ability to analyze problems and identify potential solutions and preventive measures.
- Ability to deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work unconventional hours (more than eight hours a day, at night and on weekends).
- Ability to travel via plane and/or car.
