We are a busy collision center looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanical Repair Technician to join our team. This position focuses exclusively on mechanical repairs and diagnostics — no body work required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical damage resulting from vehicle collisions
  • Perform suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain repairs
  • Diagnose and repair cooling and A/C systems
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs
  • Replace and program sensors and other electronic components as needed
  • Perform ADAS-related mechanical/electronic repairs and calibrations as applicable
  • Complete pre- and post-repair mechanical inspections
  • Perform diagnostic scans and interpret diagnostic trouble codes
  • Follow OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications
  • Properly document repairs and communicate additional mechanical needs
  • Work closely with estimators and the collision repair team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

This Is a Mechanical Position. No body work, dent repair, sanding, or painting. You will be responsible for the mechanical side of collision repairs, helping ensure every vehicle is mechanically safe and properly repaired before returning to the customer.


Work is performed indoors in a shop environment, tool usage includes mechanic's hand and power tools that produce significant vibration and force, standing and walking will be required for entire work shift in order to complete job duties. Pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling will be required frequently to access all parts of vehicles being worked on. Lifting as well as pushing and pulling weights and forces from 20 to 100 pounds occasionally required.

Requirements
  •  Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with modern vehicle electrical and computer systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic scan tools and repair information systems
  • Strong understanding of suspension, steering, brakes, engines, drivetrains, and electrical systems
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record are required
  • ASE, I-CAR, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
  • Collision repair experience is helpful but not required for the right mechanical technician
  • Must have ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles both automatic and manual transmissions.
Salary Description
$50,000-$110,000.00/annually
