Who You Are
You are a hunter. You've built a career closing new business through cold outreach, and you're energized rather than drained by a full day of calls. You have direct experience selling into private and independent schools, understanding their governance structures, admissions and enrollment pressures, budget cycles, and the key decision-makers involved in getting a deal done. Ideally, you've also sold consulting, training, or professional services rather than a physical product, and you know how to sell an outcome and a relationship. You build your own pipeline, manage your own calendar, and hold yourself accountable to a number taking full ownership of your book of business.
- Own and drive new business development within the private and independent school market, with cold calling and outbound prospecting as the core, daily engine of pipeline generation.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline from first outreach through contract close, with minimal oversight.
- Lead contract negotiations and close deals to meet and exceed individual sales and revenue targets.
- Develop and execute region and account strategies to expand Joffe's presence among target independent schools and associations.
- Travel approximately every 6 weeks to industry conferences and trade shows (e.g., NAIS, regional independent school associations) to prospect, network, and represent Joffe turning conference relationships into pipelines.
- Manage a book of client accounts post-sale to ensure strong relationships, high retention, and expansion opportunities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in CRM and contract management systems (HubSpot).
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, consultants) to refine messaging and ensure smooth handoff and delivery for closed deals.
- Present pipeline, performance, and market insights quarterly to senior leadership and the advisory board.
- Serve as a mentor and best-practice resource for more junior sales team members, without formal management responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned

- Track record of independently sourcing and closing new leads
- Comfortable and effective navigating independent school buying processes, governance structures (heads of school, business officers, boards), and budget cycles.
- Existing relationships or network within the independent school community (e.g., NAIS, regional associations) a strong plus.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a demonstrated history of hitting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot preferred) and sales enablement tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel roughly every 6 weeks for conferences and events.
- Highly self-directed, organized, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.
