Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center/Veterans Community Living Center (SPRHC/VCLC) is looking for a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Rehabilitation Services team in beautiful Southern Colorado.

Pay Range: $28.46-$39.88 per hour based on experience and qualifications

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, no weekends

Requirements

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing therapeutic treatments according to the patient's plan of care
  • Helping patients improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and independence
  • Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities
  • Monitoring patient progress and response to treatment
  • Communicating patient needs and progress with the Physical Therapist and healthcare team
  • Developing positive relationships with patients and their families
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PTA in Colorado
  • CPR/BLS certified or willing to obtain certification

Minimum Required Education/Experience:  Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. Hold a  Hold a current, unrestricted Colorado Physical Therapist Assistant license. 

 

Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

• Ability to maintain an efficient work schedule with a high level of productivity.

• Ability to utilize problem-solving skills to work with patients, families, staff members and other team members to aid in providing high quality care.

• Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications (e-mail, surveillance equipment/cameras).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Possesses advanced active listening skills, including seeking clarification when in doubt and requesting feedback when needed.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration.

Note: An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.

Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain annual flu and Covid-19 vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to tuberculosis screening process.

Licenses or Certificates:  Valid Colorado Physical Therapy Assistant license.
