Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks that enhance patient experience and facility operations. Responsibilities include greeting patients, supporting staff, following safety guidelines, and upholding the organization’s values. Successful volunteers are dependable, professional, and actively contribute to a positive environment for patients and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet all patients upon arrival.
- Assist and direct patients throughout the facility as needed.
- Understand and adhere to assigned duties, organizational rules, and safety protocols.
- Complete all duties assigned by supervisors and promptly report any issues.
- Attend required training sessions and seek clarification when needed.
- Uphold professionalism in all interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Make feasible and appropriate suggestions for improving operations.
- Deliver presentations or status updates when requested.
- Notify supervisors if you are running late or unable to fulfill your duties.

Compliance & Confidentiality
- Volunteers must adhere to all Federal, State, and Local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA Privacy & Security standards.
- All volunteers must sign a Pledge of Confidentiality and maintain confidentiality of all written, verbal, and electronic patient information.
- Volunteers must secure their workspaces and log off systems when unattended.
- Non-compliance may result in immediate dismissal from the volunteer program.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to assist or lift patients when necessary (may exceed 50 pounds).
- Normal vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination required.
- Must be able to perform duties under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
