Job Purpose:
The Assembly Supervisor will plan, direct, and/or coordinate work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. They are responsible to coordinate activities of all associates involved in the assembly process, including mechanical, electrical, and other associates as necessary. The Assembly Supervisor has responsibility over BETA’s on-time delivery, labor utilization and efficiency, quality of products to BETA’s high standards, and overall customer support. This position will have supervision over the Narrow Body Cart, Hydrant Truck, Military, and Cell One leads. This position also performs duties required to meet customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and lead the Assembly team - responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Regularly meet with associates and direct team to review responsibilities and performance
- Maintain and communicate Assembly Skills Matrix
- Monitor sales forecasts, production, and related schedules to provide recommendations concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, and/or line balancing to mitigate/overcome constraints
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production issues
- Work with Production Control Team on material availability and timing to satisfy production requirements; includes clearly identified bus stops, shortage risk mitigation, and operational improvement opportunities
- Work with Engineering Team to develop use plans, training opportunities, and improvement initiatives
- Provides functional input for Warranty, Spare Parts, and Field Service support as needed; may include urgent customer driven issues
- Identify, participate, and potentially lead Kaizens and improvement opportunities
- Ensure on-time delivery and compliance with customer expectations
- Ensure proper safety protocols are adhered to and identifies risk opportunities for improvement
- Update BETA leadership on operational issues routinely and timely; including but not limited to on-time delivery, labor utilization, and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required
- Associate degree or higher, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
- Two or more years managing people, including managing other supervisors or leads
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; comfortable with data entry and basic reporting
- Forklift experience strongly preferred; will train
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of assembly materials, assembly processes, quality control, and cost drivers, and how they combine to produce and ship product efficiently
- Experience maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic mobile equipment systems
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance
- Ability to direct work to specification, with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with an industrial safety environment and routine use of protective equipment — safety shoes, welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats. BETA provides or reimburses required PPE.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent use of hands to handle, control, and feel objects, tools, and controls
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and specifications
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds independently
- Regular presence on the assembly floor, including standing and walking for extended periods
- Ability to work in a loud, non-temperature controlled manufacturing environment
