Director of New Club Development
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of New Club Development to lead the construction of new locations from initial project planning through completion. This position will oversee preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, contractor management, architectural coordination and construction execution to ensure new facilities are delivered timely, within budget, and in accordance with company standards.
The Director of New Club Development will work closely with Executive Leadership, Operations, Finance, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project partners to successfully bring approved new locations through construction and opening.

Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction & Planning
- Lead the preconstruction process for new building projects.
- Review architectural plans, engineering documents, specifications, and project scopes.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and construction plans.
- Identify potential construction challenges, cost concerns, and project risks before construction begins.
- Coordinate permitting and other required approvals.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids and contracts with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other vendors.
Construction Management
- Oversee the construction of new locations from groundbreaking through completion.
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to approved budgets, schedules, plans, and specifications.
- Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Review and manage change orders, invoices, and project expenditures.
- Identify and resolve construction issues and delays in a timely manner.
- Coordinate project completion and turnover to Operations.
Leadership & Vendor Management
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and other development partners.
- Establish consistent development and construction processes, standards, and best practices.
- Provide regular updates to Executive Leadership regarding project status, budgets, timelines, risks, and key decisions.
- Partner with Operations to ensure new locations are delivered ready for operational use.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, construction management, real estate development, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, project scheduling, budgeting, permitting, and building plans.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and significant budgets simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to travel regularly to construction sites.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
