Description
Assist with the setup and operation of a production line to ensure products are made safely and meet quality and customer requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment and monitor the production line.
- Perform quality checks and make minor process adjustments as needed.
- Assist with starting up equipment and performing basic preventive maintenance.
- Inspect fiber and finished products for quality.
- Offload, weigh, wrap, label, and package finished products.
- Remove production waste and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements.
- Properly handle and track raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Assist with training new employees.
- Report safety or equipment concerns to the Shift Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Basic math skills and ability to read production charts.
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter production information.
- Ability to follow written instructions and work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Work environment may include moderate to excessive noise, heat, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and moving equipment.
- Must be able to work safely around production machinery.
