PURPOSE OF POSITION:

A Children’s Program Manager at Catholic Charities: 

  • Responsible for recruiting new volunteers and coordinating existing volunteers to fulfill the needs of Marisol Homes, and the population served.  
  • Provides orientation to new volunteers, to include at least one weekend orientation per month or as needed and coordinates volunteer groups/assignments. 
  • Coordinates with the Marisol Homes Director, Program Manager and Family Advocate Supervisor to determine the number of volunteers needed for programming and special events.  
  • Plans and implements activities for children at Marisol Homes that stimulate learning in all developmental areas (physical, emotional, social, and cognitive) 
  • Ensures that the playroom areas are safe, clean and orderly. 
  • Assists in the organization and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment. 
  • Provides crisis intervention including, but not limited to, child abuse reporting. 
  • Coordinates and attends community volunteer recruitment activities. 
  • Assists the program manager in forecasting number of volunteers needed for upcoming programming and special events. 
  • Manage all aspects of an events from pre-planning, determining resource needs, pre-event marketing, and on-site coordination to post-event follow up 
  • Supervise volunteers at events, assign duties, and provide general direction. 
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees/volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Submits monthly department report showing volunteer service hours. 
  • Promotes volunteerism through talks, tours and relationships with churches, businesses and academic institutions. 
  • Periodically, solicits feedback from volunteers to assess satisfaction with assignments, possibility for additional or different volunteer opportunities.  
  • Assists in planning and implementing volunteer recognitions including the annual national volunteer week recognition.  
  • In coordination with the Marisol Homes Director and team, updates the Marisol Homes wish list on a regular basis and secures useful-In-Kind donations.  
  • Maintain and enhance ongoing delivery of children’s programming as well as associated community partnerships 
  • Support the ongoing training and development of employees as well as the implementation of specialty program initiatives to support a two generation model of care for Marisol Homes Program  
  • Monitor and oversee team budget and strategic planning for the development and enhancement of the larger children’s programming in alignment with a two generation model 
  • Participate in the development and implementation of program vision and mission along with measurable goals and objectives to bring these to fruition. 
  • Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures regarding Children’s Programming at Marisol Homes 
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information. 
  • Regular and predictable attendance. 
  • Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong attention to detail, possesses analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of appropriate techniques and practices for the client population
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base Ability to multi-task and have a sense of urgency in a high-volume work environment. 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field; and three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: 

Salary: $60,000-70,000 per year
