Position Summary
The Barback supports bartenders and the bar team by ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, organized, and operating efficiently throughout each shift. This position plays an essential role in maintaining a smooth guest experience by anticipating the needs of bartenders, replenishing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with opening and closing duties.
The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, organized, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate levels of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies.
- Restock the bar, refrigerators, storage areas, and service stations throughout the shift.
- Prepare and replenish garnishes, juices, mixers, and other beverage-related supplies as directed.
- Maintain clean and organized bar areas, including workstations, floors, coolers, and storage spaces.
- Collect and wash or properly organize glassware, dishes, and bar equipment.
- Assist bartenders with service by anticipating their needs and responding quickly to requests.
- Empty trash and recycling and maintain appropriate sanitation standards.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing beverage deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock items to management.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including restocking, cleaning, and securing the bar.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and responsible alcohol-service standards.
- Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with frequent movement, noise, and varying temperatures.
