Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician 

Reports to: Director of Facilities and Plant Operations 

Location: 1575 Blue Hill Avenue 

Type: Full time 

Salary: $22 - $24 per hour


Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the management, preventative, predictive, corrective, and safety work orders for the company’s facilities.


 Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers by following established procedures and safety regulations.
  • Follows and has knowledge of Federal, State and local codes and rules for MCHC.
  • Is accessible 24/7 for emergency preparedness and related events associated with the facility.
  • Has a proactive approach to identification of corrective maintenance issues through rounding, inspection, and department engagement
  • Performs general maintenance duties, as allowed to be completed without a relevant trade license, unless the individual possesses a specific trade license. The Technician may perform or assist in general maintenance of utility systems including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, data-low voltage controls, and temperature controls, to the extent allowed, or when under the direction of a licensed utility system tradesman. Duties may include the following: Inspects, installs, adjusts, assembles, and replaces equipment including but not limited to beds, wheelchairs, patient transport carts, TVs, , lights, flooring and ceilings, as able and competent to perform.
  • Also works with many other outside vendors when applicable.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on hospital equipment, cleans and adjusts air filters, belts, and other mechanical equipment
  • Uses various drills, saws, and other hand tools in the performance of job duties. Maintains tools and equipment. Assists in evaluating and maintaining an inventory of spare parts, tools, equipment, and other necessary hardware.
  • Repairs and maintains wall coverings, as able and competent.
  • Mixes, matches, applies paint and protective coatings.
  • Able to respond to changing schedule and work hours to meet the needs of the customer and facility.
  • Able to handle the varying workloads and meet changing deadlines as necessary.
  • Assists in emergency related tests such as emergency generators, lighting, electrical, and associated equipment.
  • Ability to handle emergency and high-pressure events with professionalism.
  • Ability to rotate calls on a 24/7 schedule as written.
  • Ability to accurately review work order documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to data entry.

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
Salary Description
$22 - $24 per hour
