Sourcing Manager, Power Facilities
Hybrid Remote Houston, TX Supply Chain
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Fervo Energy is applying first-principles engineering and a manufacturing mindset to geothermal power — an industry that has operated the same way for decades. We are not building one-off power plants. We are building a product: GeoBlock, a standardized, repeatable geothermal generation unit designed to get cheaper, faster, and more reliable with every iteration.

Supply Chain is not a support function here. Our job is to be embedded with Engineering early — shaping equipment specs and supplier strategy before decisions are locked in, not sourcing against a finished design.

The Sourcing Manager, Power Facilities owns category strategy and execution for major PowerBlock equipment — air-cooled condensers, heat exchangers, feed pumps, rotating equipment, and balance-of-plant systems. This role partners directly with Engineering on specification and packaging decisions, builds competitive supplier options across the category, and negotiates agreements that hold suppliers accountable for cost, schedule, and quality.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Build and own a documented sourcing strategy for PowerBlock equipment categories, including ACCs, heat exchangers, feed pumps, and rotating equipment
  • Identify opportunities to split or repackage scope across multiple suppliers to reduce cost and schedule risk
  • Track market pricing and supplier capacity across the category to inform award decisions
  • Engage Engineering early on equipment specifications and packaging strategy
  • Bring supplier and market insight into design reviews before requirements are finalized
  • Lead commercial negotiations for PowerBlock equipment purchases, from RFQ through contract execution
  • Structure contracts and delivery terms that protect schedule and give Fervo visibility into supplier performance
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance across the category post-award
  • Partner with Logistics and Expediting to maintain delivery of long-lead equipment  by site-required installation dates

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or category management experience, ideally in power generation, industrial equipment, or capital projects
  • Experience negotiating equipment or services contracts with meaningful commercial value
  • Comfortable reading and engaging with mechanical engineering specifications
  • Track record of building supplier options and driving competitive sourcing outcomes

Preferred

  • Experience sourcing air-cooled condensers, heat exchangers, or other rotating/stationary power generation equipment
  • Familiarity with tariff and domestic content considerations affecting equipment sourcing
  • Experience partnering directly with engineering teams on spec and packaging decisions
  • Background in energy infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, or capital projects
