Position Overview
Our client is seeking a motivated and ambitious Audit & Accounting Staff Accountant with two to five years of public accounting experience to join our growing Assurance & Accounting Department. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain meaningful client exposure, work directly with firm leadership, and develop technical expertise through participation in audit, review, compilation, accounting, and consulting engagements.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting foundation, demonstrated competency in public accounting, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to pursuing CPA licensure. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in audit, review, and compilation engagements
- Perform audit procedures, substantive testing, and analytical reviews
- Prepare audit work-papers and supporting documentation
- Prepare financial statements and related disclosures
- Analyze financial information and identify accounting and reporting issues
- Prepare account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries
- Assist clients with accounting and financial reporting matters
- Communicate effectively with clients, managers, and partners
- Maintain compliance with professional standards and firm policies
- Manage multiple assignments and engagement deadlines
- Participate in continuing professional education and professional development activities
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Two to five years of public accounting experience
- Demonstrated competency in audit, accounting, financial reporting, and client service responsibilities
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation
- Active pursuit of CPA licensure with demonstrated progress toward certification
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Successful completion of one or more sections of the CPA Examination
- Experience with audit, review, and compilation engagements
- Experience serving privately held companies, nonprofit organizations, or employee benefit plans
- Familiarity with accounting and audit software applications
