Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with daily living activities, including cooking, dressing, grooming, and household routines
- Encourage independence, personal choice, problem-solving, and achievement of individual goals
- Help people participate in community activities and build meaningful relationships
- Monitor and report physical, emotional, and behavioral needs to the care team
- Administer medications and follow individual medical and support plans
- Implement behavior-support plans using positive, respectful approaches
- Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming environment
- Complete accurate documentation and communicate important updates with the team
