JOB SUMMARY
The Applications Analyst performs analytical work related to reporting, AR system functionality, and operational processes and procedures. Develops reporting structures and generates reports using proven knowledge of specialized reporting tools. Supports the data reporting needs of MedPro’s internal and external clients. Applies critical thinking to identify system solutions for changing/evolving business requirements. Supports database management and new client implementation. Responsible for working in conjunction with the Support Services Supervisor to produce needed materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, maintains, tests and delivers various complex (standard and adhoc) reports via various application reporting tools.
- Elicits report requirements using interviews, technical manuals, and task/workflow analysis to create specifications for reports.
- Documents and maintains instructions and logic used for all written reports.
- Investigates AR system functionality to identify and recommend process improvement efficiencies to management.
- Connects with internal and external groups to evaluate needs for new and revised systems; identifies possible improvements and makes recommendations to support business needs.
- Assists in the startup, database maintenance, and processes of new MedPro customers; identifies process flaws and implements solutions.
- Manages multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity within deadlines; creates and maintains detailed Project Plans.
- Coordinates the setup, implementation, and testing of new software programs and software upgrades.
- Assists Support Services Supervisor with ensuring production and deadlines of required reports are met.
- Assists Process Improvement Analyst(s) with projects and manages project production.
- Participates as an involved member of the MedPro and IT Reporting Group.
- May serve as functional leader of assigned projects.
- Assists with systems-related training as needed.
- May assist in client-based consulting engagements.
- Accurately follows written and verbal instructions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum education requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Displays excellent customer services skills, strong interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and basic math skills. Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to frequent changes.

- Displays computer proficiency (i.e. PC Windows, MS Office) and ability to quickly learn new applications. Efficient with Microsoft applications, to include Excel and Word.

- Possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

- Have intellectual capacity to learn all MedPro functions including advanced understanding of billing software and interpret various documentation sources.
- Previous report development experience required.
- Business Objects and/or Crystal Reporting applications experience desired.
- Possess fundamental understanding of database structure including table joins, and SQL statements.
- Present a pleasant attitude towards others regardless of intensity of workload or time constraints.
