The Warehouse Operations Specialist is a hands-on position responsible for supporting both the administrative and physical operations of the warehouse. This position serves as a key point of support for customer orders, inventory, billing, receiving, transportation and daily warehouse paperwork while also working as part of the warehouse team.


This position is expected to be flexible and able to step into warehouse and delivery responsibilities as business needs require. This includes pulling and loading tires, unloading incoming shipments, operating warehouse equipment and serving as a backup delivery driver when needed.


This is not an office-only position. Regular participation in warehouse operations is an essential part of the job.

Essential Responsibilities


Operations & Administrative Support

  • Process walk-in, special and canceled orders.
  • Assist with inventory questions and customer/order issues.
  • Communicate route changes, delivery delays and order issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Process daily orders, routes, cash drawer documentation and bank deposits.
  • Enter and receive incoming product and transfers into company systems.
  • Verify purchase orders, costing and receiving information for accuracy.
  • Process merchandise returns, warranty adjustments and customer credits.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, files and communication with Accounting, Customer      Service and other departments.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with other daily operational needs.

Warehouse Support

  • Pull tires and other products accurately according to pick tickets and      invoices.
  • Load outgoing delivery trucks and unload incoming shipments.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing product for accuracy, shortages and damage.
  • Move, stack and organize tires and other merchandise throughout the warehouse.
  • Learn and safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse and dock area.
  • Perform the same physical warehouse work expected of other warehouse team members      when coverage or workload requires it.

Backup Delivery

  • Serve as a backup delivery driver when needed.
  • Safely operate company delivery vehicles and follow all company transportation      and safety procedures.
  • Load and unload product at customer locations.
  • Verify deliveries against invoices and shipping documentation.
  • Collect and return required paperwork, receipts and payments.
  • Communicate delivery delays, vehicle issues or customer concerns to management.
Requirements

  

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification      requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to work in both an administrative and warehouse      environment.
  • Comfortable using computers, email and company business systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process paperwork and      transactions.
  • Dependable, flexible and willing to step into different responsibilities based on the      needs of the warehouse.
  • Must be able to become certified on required warehouse equipment following company      training.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position. The employee must be able to:

  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, squat and handle merchandise.
  • Regularly lift and move tires and other products weighing up to 75–100 pounds.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles and incoming shipments.
  • Work in a warehouse environment that may not be climate controlled.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Overall Expectation

The Warehouse Operations Specialist is expected to support the entire operation, not one specific function. On any given day, business needs may require the employee to process orders and paperwork, assist customers, receive inventory, pull and load tires, unload a shipment or make a delivery. Flexibility and willingness to help wherever needed are essential functions of this position.
