Why This Role Matters


We are seeking a Lead Facilities & Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Santa Fe Food Market. In this role, you will help ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the market through hands-on maintenance, preventative maintenance and oversight of day-to-day facility needs. You will serve as a lead technical resource for the property, troubleshoot critical building and equipment systems and provide direction and technical support to Facilities & Maintenance Technicians. Your work will play an important role in keeping the market operating smoothly for our food hall operators, team members and guests.


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead day-to-day facilities and maintenance activities while providing work direction and technical support to Facilities & Maintenance Technicians.
  • Prioritize and complete work orders, preventative maintenance and urgent facility needs to support safe and uninterrupted market operations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general building systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, ventilation and other food hall systems within the scope of the position.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the building, grounds and equipment to identify safety concerns, maintenance needs and potential equipment failures.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with property leadership, food hall operators, contractors and service vendors to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules, equipment records, work orders and required maintenance documentation.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs and support facility improvements while ensuring work meets company safety, sanitation and operational standards.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction or related experience required; previous lead or senior technician experience preferred.
  • Commercial kitchen, restaurant, food hall or hospitality facilities maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, commercial kitchen equipment and general building repair practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs and respond effectively to urgent operational issues.
  • Ability to lead, train and provide technical direction to Facilities & Maintenance Technicians.
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted driver’s license and be able to maintain eligibility under the company’s group insurance requirements.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling and other physically active work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and emergency maintenance response as needed; OSHA, Forklift, Scissor Lift or applicable trade certifications may be required.
Salary Description
$20 - $24 Hourly DOE
