Banquet Server
Description

I, POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for providing prompt, quality food and beverage service to club members and guests. Set up, maintain and breakdown special functions and regular meetings. Properly maintain storage facilities and equipment. Present a positive and professional image.


II. ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Aid the Club Events Manager in the serving of members/guests during banquet functions to ensure positive guest experience.

• Possess food and beverage knowledge.

• Set up banquet room as requested to include glassware, silverware, china, linens, banquet equipment and other items requested on the banquet event order and/or banquet packet.

• Maintain a positive, professional image and attitude.

• Attend line-up meetings before events in order to learn individual duties.

• Greet and welcome members within hospitality zone.

• Attend to all needs of the members/guests during functions and function related duties.

• Abide by and perform all service standards.

• Serve the beverage and food in the appropriate order and in tune with the expectation of the Club Events Manager to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.

• Abide by all laws pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.

• Replenish beverages when necessary, and check with members/guests to make sure they are satisfied.

• Reset banquet room in accordance with the banquet event order (BEO) specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for other functions

• Carrying trays properly

• Maintain storage facilities and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.

• Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

Requirements

III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Food Certification

• Must have positive employee/guest relations skills.

• Have strong organizational skills with attention to details.

IV. Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to sit, stand, squat, kneel, reach, bend, stoop, twist, climb, clean and lift up to 40 pounds with frequent repetitive motions

• Must be able to handle continuous standing and walking and walking on uneven ground

• Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions with occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.

• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs.

• Must be able to stand and walk the length of the shift.

• Working in extreme heat during harsh summer months.

• Ability to serve food and drinks with small service tray and/or large oval tray.
