Vertis Therapy is seeking a Program Director – Physical Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant for a Full-Time position in Topeka, KS. This position provides excellent benefits and opportunities for career advancement.
The Program Director’s primary responsibility is the leadership of the therapy team, including management of the day-to-day operations of the therapy department, supervision of therapy staff, and coordination of RUG management. The secondary responsibility is patient care. The Program Director demonstrates strong leadership, team development, customer service, and department operations skills. The Program Director works closely with the Regional Manager to ensure that organizational standards are maintained, and available resources are well utilized.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures that rehabilitation services are provided in compliance with company and facility policies and procedures, as well as State, Federal, and professional organization regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Coordinates resident screening (PT/OT/SLP) programs.
- Serves as an advocate for meeting the rehabilitation needs of residents.
- Coordinates attendance at care plan and departmental meetings.
- Acts as a liaison between the therapy department, administrator, and nursing staff.
- Ensures accurate and timely month-end billing.
- Coordinates therapist schedules and arranges PRN staffing as needed.
- Communicates PT/OT/SLP schedules and changes to administration and nursing staff.
- Coordinates the execution of the Restorative Program with nursing staff and the therapy department.
- Prepares the Rehab Department for a deficiency-free State Survey and acts as the department representative during the survey process.
- Completes the organization’s guide to survey twice annually.
- Trains staff on company and facility policies and procedures.
- Assists in identifying therapy needs of the resident population.
- Leads the therapy team in implementing clinical programs.
- Effectively communicates pertinent information from management and facility leadership to the therapy team.
- Assists the Regional Manager with performance reviews, applicant interviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Assists the Regional Manager with the orientation of new employees and contract therapists.
- Supports team development by encouraging individual growth, recognizing accomplishments, and providing a positive work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.
- Analyzes team productivity levels and facilitates achievement of company expectations.
- Assists the Regional Manager in analyzing key monthly operational data to support department and organizational success.
- Provides direct patient care, applying the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in their discipline to the patient population served at the facility
