What You Will Own

Brand Activation and Stewardship

- Translate the brand strategy into consistent messaging, content, campaigns, and customer experiences across channels.

- Serve as a brand steward, ensuring every communication reflects UCS's expertise, quality, credibility, and commitment to the athletics community.

- Translate brand strategy into practical messaging frameworks, campaign briefs, editorial standards, and content guidelines.

- Partner with creative team members and external agencies to deliver cohesive, high-quality brand experiences.

Integrated Content Strategy and Planning

- Own the annual marketing and editorial calendar, aligning campaigns with product launches, promotions, events, sponsorships, and seasonal purchasing cycles.

- Develop full-funnel content strategies that move priority audiences from awareness and consideration to conversion, loyalty, and advocacy.

- Create and manage content across the website, email, social media, catalogs, sales materials, trade shows, PR, and internal communications.

- Build a repeatable content development process that includes clear briefs, owners, milestones, approvals, and execution plans. 

- Repurpose high-value stories and assets across channels to extend reach, improve efficiency, and maintain message consistency.

Campaigns, Email, and Demand Generation

- Plan, write, and execute integrated campaigns for athletic directors, coaches, facility managers, administrators, dealers, and other customer segments. 

- Develop segmented email campaigns and nurture programs that support acquisition, product education, reactivation, and customer retention.

- Partner with digital marketing and sales to create landing pages, lead-generation offers, calls to action, and conversion-focused content.

- Test subject lines, messages, formats, audiences, and timing; use results to continuously improve engagement and conversion.

Social Media Strategy and Community Storytelling

- Set social media strategy, editorial direction, and the content calendar across the platforms most relevant to UCS audiences, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and emerging industry channels.

- Create content that strengthens UCS's authority and humanizes the brand, including customer stories, product education, installations, event coverage, industry insights, and behind-the-scenes features.

- Build a consistent pipeline of user-generated content, testimonials, case studies, and success stories from schools, programs, athletes, coaches, and facilities.

- Monitor industry conversations, audience engagement, competitive activity, and cultural trends to identify timely content opportunities.

- Partner closely with the Social Media Manager, who owns day-to-day platform execution, publishing, community engagement, social listening, and channel-level reporting; this role sets direction and provides briefs, while the Social Media Manager runs execution.

Product Commercialization and Sales Enablement

- Develop differentiated positioning, messaging, and content plans for new product introductions and priority product categories.

-Translate technical product features into clear customer value for distinct audiences and buying environments.

- Equip the sales team and dealer network with on-brand, easy-to-use content that supports stronger customer conversations and shorter sales cycles.

 

Public Relations, Thought Leadership, and Internal Communications

- Support PR strategy, media outreach, press releases, award submissions, and relationships with relevant trade and industry publications.

- Develop executive communications and thought leadership that elevate UCS's expertise and point of view.

- Create clear, engaging internal communications that keep employees informed and aligned around company priorities, launches, milestones, and change initiatives.

Measurement and Optimization

- Establish content and channel KPIs tied to reach, engagement, lead generation, conversion, pipeline influence, and content utilization.

- Build regular performance reporting and translate insights into clear recommendations and action plans.

- Maintain a searchable content library and identify gaps, refresh opportunities, and high-performing assets that can be scaled.

Requirements

  

What You Bring


- 5+ years of experience in brand marketing, content marketing, integrated marketing, communications, or a related discipline; B2B experience strongly preferred.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences, formats, and stages of the buyer journey.

- Proven track record managing integrated content calendars and multi-channel campaigns from strategy through execution, with strong project management discipline and attention to detail.

- Experience with email marketing, marketing automation, content management, and social media tools. 

- Working knowledge of SEO, digital content best practices, lead generation, and conversion-focused messaging.

- Experience supporting product launches, commercialization, or sales enablement.

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Experience

- Experience marketing to athletic directors, coaches, educators, administrators, facility managers, dealers, or institutional buyers.

- Experience in athletic equipment, sporting goods, education, facilities, manufacturing, or another product-led industry.

- Experience developing customer case studies, video content, user-generated content programs, or executive thought leadership.

- Familiarity with brand architecture, messaging frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, and digital asset management.
