Central Supply / Scheduler
The Central Supply / Scheduler is responsible for coordinating daily staffing schedules while supporting the efficient operation of Central Supply. This position plays an important role in ensuring that staff schedules, resident care needs, and supply needs are appropriately coordinated to support the highest quality of care and service for our guests.
The Scheduler works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), department leadership, nursing staff, and other team members to maintain appropriate staffing levels, coordinate coverage, and respond to scheduling changes as resident care needs arise. In addition, this position supports Central Supply operations by coordinating, organizing, and maintaining the availability of essential supplies and equipment needed for daily operations.

Central Supply / Scheduler
Job Summary
The Central Supply Technician/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating the scheduling and distribution of medical supplies, equipment, and related services throughout the facility. This position maintains accurate inventory, coordinates schedules and departmental requests, communicates with staff and vendors, and ensures supplies and resources are available when needed. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and time-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily and ongoing schedules for supply deliveries, equipment, and departmental requests.
- Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store medical supplies and equipment.
- Prepare and distribute supplies to clinical and other departments according to scheduled needs.
- Schedule deliveries, pickups, equipment needs, and other supply-related services.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor supply levels.
- Replenish stock and communicate low-stock, back-order, or delayed items to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate with nursing units, physicians, clinical departments, vendors, and other staff to meet supply needs.
- Review and prioritize requests based on urgency and department requirements.
- Maintain and update schedules, calendars, work orders, and supply requests.
- Inspect supplies for expiration dates, damage, and proper packaging.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe supply storage areas.
- Process, clean, assemble, package, and sterilize reusable instruments and equipment when required.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and facility procedures.
- Enter and maintain accurate information in computer systems and inventory/scheduling software.
- Assist with resolving scheduling conflicts, delivery delays, and supply issues.
- Communicate schedule changes and updates to affected departments and staff.
- Complete required documentation, reports, inventory records, and supply requests.
- Provide professional customer service to internal departments, patients when applicable, vendors, and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, central supply, scheduling, inventory, materials management, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience with scheduling or inventory systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and urgent requests.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow facility policies and procedures.
