Position Summary
Renstar Medical Research is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical research team on an as-needed (PRN) contractor basis. In this role, you will conduct physical exams and clinical assessments of research study participants under the supervision of our Principal Investigators (PIs). This position offers a flexible schedule with part-time hours; it is not a guaranteed full-time or set-hours role, and hours will fluctuate based on active study needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform physical examinations and clinical assessments of research study participants under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI)
• Evaluate participant health status, medical history, and study eligibility criteria
• Conduct study visit procedures and assessments in accordance with the protocol and PI direction
• Identify, document, and report adverse events and concomitant medications to the PI in a timely manner
• Coordinate with research staff, PIs, and other healthcare professionals as needed
• Order or review labs, diagnostics, and other assessments as delegated by the PI and permitted under Florida law
• Communicate study-related findings clearly to participants, research staff, and the PI
• Document all findings, assessments, and progress accurately on study-specific source documents
• Review and sign study-related source documentation promptly and in accordance with study timelines
Maintain compliance with the protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and all applicable regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program
• Current, unencumbered Florida APRN license in good standing
• Current national certification (e.g., ANCC or AANP) appropriate to practice
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Prior clinical research experience preferred; willingness to work under PI oversight and study protocols required
• Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and FDA regulations preferred
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic source documentation systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, variable schedule
• This is a 1099 independent contractor position, compensated on a fee-for-service basis; it is not a benefits-eligible employee role.
• All clinical assessments and procedures are performed under the supervision and direction of a Renstar Principal Investigator (PI), consistent with the study protocol and Florida APRN practice requirements.
• Hours are PRN and will vary based on participant scheduling and active study volume. While the intent is ongoing, part-time work, Renstar cannot guarantee a minimum number of hours or full-time hours.
• All services are performed at Renstar's Ocala, FL facility or Lady Lake, FL facility unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Scheduling will be coordinated collaboratively between the Contractor and Renstar to accommodate the Contractor's other professional obligations.
