Founded in 1991, IBJI is the largest orthopedic group practice in Illinois. Ortho Access walk-in clinics provide same day care for orthopedic injuries. Collaborative care is also more efficient. In many cases, IBJI services are substantially less expensive than those provided by large healthcare systems and emergency rooms.

Summary

Physical Therapist Assistants work under the direction and supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to provide superior outpatient rehabilitation services through a collaborative care model with our physicians in order to optimize performance and enhance the quality of function for our patients. 

Responsibilities 

• Carries out treatment plans established by the physical therapist including progression of patient to attain functional goals as deemed appropriate by patient status and normal progression
• Provide exceptional care for patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting 
• Written documentation on patient status per compliance guidelines of IBJI Rehab 
• Periodic written communication to physicians through progress notes and discharges after consulting with the supervising PT regarding assessment and plan, and co-signed by PT 
• Frequent communication with supervising PT regarding appropriate patient progression, discharge and patient follow up 
• Supervising Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed
• Compliance with daily paperwork which includes documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP, etc)
• Stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices
• Maintains active state license by earning appropriate CEU’s through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities
• Develops positive relationships with physical therapists and physician teams at IBJI 
• Takes an active role in the patient medical team by facilitating relationships with PT’s, MD’s and case managers as appropriately directed by supervising PT
• Participates in IBJI sponsored programs including mentoring, clinical educator, special interest groups, community outreach, etc. 
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program

Certifications/Licensure

• Holds current license to practice in Illinois
• Current CPR certification

Experience

• Not applicable

Technical Skills

• Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing 

Soft Skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
• Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day 

Physical Requirements

• Stand or sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds 

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
