We are seeking a highly motivated Reliabilities Maintenance & Utilities Manager to lead the planning, scheduling, operation, and maintenance of critical ancillary and facility support systems.In this role, you will serve as a key link between operations and maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing productivity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Do


 You will oversee maintenance planning, resource coordination, and ancillary operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.


Key Responsibilities


Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Review, prioritize, and coordinate all non-emergency maintenance work orders.
  • Evaluate work scope and determine the most efficient approach to completing maintenance activities.
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) programs to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Develop integrated maintenance schedules that align labor, materials, tools, permits, and equipment availability.
  • Ensure maintenance resources are available and prepared to respond to emergency situations.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Facility Managers and other departments to minimize operational disruptions.

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform post-maintenance reviews to evaluate work quality and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, inventory management, and maintenance processes.
  • Utilize CMMS systems to plan, schedule, track, and analyze maintenance activities.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S programs, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and standardized work practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance workforce productivity, equipment uptime, and operational efficiency.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to support training and development of ancillary operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Foster strong collaboration between Maintenance and Ancillary Operations to ensure seamless plant support.
  • Assist with workforce planning, employee development, coaching, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and environmental requirements.
  • Support proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste materials.
  • Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), respiratory protection, and all applicable safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment while supporting operational excellence.
Requirements

 

What We're Looking For!


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in: 
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or operations experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical experience, and supervisory experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Facilities Operating Engineer License.
  • Experience leading maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing or supervising maintenance and operations personnel.

Knowledge & Expertise

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of CMMS software and maintenance management systems.
  • Understanding of plant utility and ancillary systems operation.
  • Experience with equipment startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, and recovery from equipment or power failures.
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, engineering data, reports, and procedures.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development capabilities.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to support plant operations whenever needed.

Work Environment

This role is based within a manufacturing facility and requires regular interaction with production operations.

Employees may be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical equipment
  • Elevated noise levels
  • Heat, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles
  • Electrical equipment
  • Outdoor weather conditions
  • Elevated work areas and industrial environments

Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, including:

  • Safety glasses
  • Hearing protection
  • Steel-toed footwear
  • Respiratory protection
  • Face shields and specialty safety equipment as required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently communicate with employees and contractors.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in an active manufacturing environment.
