ABOUT THE JOB!
The Senior Electrical Engineer will research, model and develop designs using existing / new technologies for use in new and continuing programs for aircrew and groundcrew applications. This position encompasses the technical leadership of guiding new product development from Concept stage into Full-Rate Production.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- The individual shall possess a minimum BS degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related engineering / scientific field. Advanced degree preferred.
- The individual shall have at least seven (7) years of direct experience in product design and new product development
- Demonstrate strong ability to lead the transition of highly technical products from Concept stage to Production Readiness.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Solid understanding of embedded systems designs, (e.g. high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, power, FPGA, USB, UART, PID)
· Working knowledge of PCB design with strong emphasis on signal integrity, power integrity, impedance control, design for EMC & ESD, reliability, and manufacturability
· Strong ability to design, build, and test for various operating environments; including ICT and FCT, HALT, and HASS
· Proficiency in NPD processes and production transfer; support tool design and process development through qualification
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, manufacturers’ datasheets, VHDL and / or Verilog, PCB layout and stack ups, and other relevant technical documents to support tooling, and design reviews
· Working knowledge / implementation of electrical and electronic design principles in hi-rel applications (e.g. IPC-610 & IPC-620)
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills and proficiency in MS Office, and MS Projects or similar
· Proficient in modeling & simulation, and statistical software (e.g. OrCAD, SPICE, Synopsys, Ansys HFSS, Python, MiniTab)
· Detail oriented, self-motivated, results-driven and possess strong interpersonal and team skills
· Work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily activities. Make technical decisions within the scope of project and produce consistent, accurate and timely results
· Understand low volume / high mix design and assembly principles with a focus on design for serviceability and manufacturability
· Ability to lead / manage a team of Engineers and other technical staff
· Ability to work on sustaining engineering activities as required
· Familiarity with AS9100 procedures for Design Reviews, Inputs/Outputs, and New Product Introduction stages and gates to ensure meeting customer, product, and company contractual requirements, performance expectations and return on investment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for technical leadership on new design and development programs
· Execute NPD process in accordance with established procedures, with ownership of Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR / CDR). Support other reviews as necessary.
· Responsible for technical design leadership on production support activities (continuous improvement efforts, corrective actions, failure and root cause analysis, etc.)
· Responsible for appropriate details and quality of engineering documentation and communication, including internal / external customers, government representatives, and vendors.
· Design products to meet cost, performance, weight, quality, reliability, safety and schedule requirements
· Participate in requirements reviews, technical writing and costing activities during proposal (RFP / RFQ) efforts
· Lead interdisciplinary engineering teams to disseminate electrical and electronic design requirements and features, establishing viability of overall design approach and guide planning and / or directions
· High competency for design work ranging from conceptual studies, system trade analysis, design generation, design trouble shooting to detailed design, procurement and risk analysis
· Generate all supporting documentation (e.g. technical reports, preferred procedures and recommended solutions)
· Lead teams and participate in guiding planning that relates to electrical elements of O2 mask and support systems
· Participate / lead integrated product development teams addressing manufacturing issues and related technical / manufacturing risks. Incorporate design for manufacturability concepts into product designs
· Stay current on breath-delivery technologies, applicable industry standards, and electronics technology advancements
· Investigate / recommend new relevant technologies
· Initiate and / or review changes to engineering drawings or process documentation
