Description
The Data Analyst supports Power BI reporting, data requests, report generation, data quality initiatives, and day-to-day support tickets. This role works with stakeholders and senior technical staff to turn business questions into accurate, useful, and well-documented data outputs.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Reports to and receives general direction from ACSA’s Data Engineer. Works independently and uses expertise and experience to exercise discretion over methods used to perform tasks. Independent contributor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver organizational data analysis, including:
- Power BI Development: Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, DAX measures, refresh behavior (including Direct Lake where applicable), and report performance.
- Data Requests & Analysis: Clarify requirements, define metrics, and complete data requests using SQL, Power BI, and other appropriate tools. Outputs may include dashboards, datasets, queries, extracts, regular reports, or analysis summaries.
- Data Quality: Investigate discrepancies between source and reported data, document findings, support validation processes, and help maintain consistent business definitions and metric standards.
- Ticket Management: Triage, prioritize, and resolve data-related support tickets; follow up with stakeholders; document resolutions; and escalate complex technical issues to the Data Engineer when needed.
- Business System Support: Field data questions related to Power BI, Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, and other business systems, primarily working from curated reporting datasets rather than raw source data.
- Documentation: Document report logic, SQL queries, metric definitions, dependencies, and recurring support processes in the team's shared knowledge base.

- Sitting for long hours, working at a computer workstation for extended periods
- Perform light physical activity, including moving up to forty pounds
- Limited travel may be required by land or air, with occasional overnights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in Power BI, SQL, and data analysis; or demonstrable equivalent through internships, coursework, or independent projects.
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, window functions, filtering, troubleshooting, and writing queries that answer business questions accurately.
- Hands-on Power BI experience: dashboards, semantic models, DAX measures, Power Query.
- Working understanding of data modeling and report optimization concepts, including relationships, filter context, model design, refresh behavior, and report usability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to manage intake, clarify requests, provide status updates, and support non-technical users.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate, well-documented work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse/Warehouse concepts, or modern analytics platforms.
- Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, validation, or data quality processes.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 or other CRM/ERP platforms.
Salary Description
$85,000.00 - $90,300.00
