PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager facilitate and maintain inventory accuracy and levels by using inventory management software. Provide feedback and critical thinking skills assisting the Warehouse Team Members with inventory management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate and maintain the inventory system by:
- Data entry of receiving documents
- Track and report variances between items ordered and received to ensure variances are signed off.
- Report item substitutions and other noted variances.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by auditing transactions performed on the inventory management software; and forward completed documents to Finance.
- Research inventory problems to identify root causes of discrepancies.
- Ensure all items received have been confirmed and processed.
- Assist with resolving discrepancies such as shipment variances, damages/defects, substitutions, tracing of lost shipments, etc.
- Coordinate the receipt of incoming shipments.
- Monitor receipts to ensure they are processed timely and accurately, to include entering in ordering system software.
- Train as backup support for the Purchasing department.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
- Knowledge of Automated Inventory Management Systems. (E-requester, Great Plains, Eatec, or similar program)
- Any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position.
Skills and Abilities:
- Successfully complete provided 10 Key assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
