General Description:
Responsible for Production Operations of the shift with accountability for the execution of daily production schedules and associated Metrics. This position will take ownership for ensuring quality and safety standards are being met across the department and the staff is engaged with the Schluter vision.
The Production Operation consists of the batching and packaging of various dry mix adhesive mortars and similar type products.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in stopping and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Demonstrate daily evidence of continuous improvement efforts of 5S and autonomous maintenance.
- Treat quality as a key pillar of our success by always Doing the right thing for our customers.
- Solve problems daily by working together as an engaged team member
- Help in the relief of breaks as needed
- Maintain records and documentation
- Continuously coach employees on how to understand and identify safety hazards. Develop a culture where employees actively participate in addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Empower employees to view quality as a key pillar of our success. Mentor employees to “Do the right thing” for our customers at all times.
- · Build a positive work atmosphere through open communication and by behaving as a role model for others
- Solve problems daily by working together as an engage team member with our manufacturing engineering group, maintenance and your staff. Ensure everyone has an equal voice and problems are addressed in the right priority according to its criticality.
- Effectively execute your Shift plan by managing problems as they arise, remove obstacles that are preventing success and be the first to congratulate great performance while also provide guidance in times of need.
- Utilize visual tools on shift to monitor the productivity of the shift and enact PDCA as needed to reach Shift objectives
- Facility daily meetings to ensure key shift personal are engaged and taking action on daily issues.
- Actively participate and foster the continuous improvement program as needs to drive improvement
- Provide on the job training, ongoing standard work audits and continuous re-enforcement of work practices to ensure the work process is controlled
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently demonstrating strong technical knowledge and sound communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Possess skills required to improvise and adapt where needed
Education:
- Minimum of High School Diploma / GED and relevant experience
Physical Requirement:
- This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently lifting less than 10.
