Position Summary:

The Shipping Clerk prepares items for shipment based on customer specifications and verifies and maintains records of outgoing shipments.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end shipping and logistics operations, ensuring accurate, compliant, and on-time delivery of domestic and international orders.
  • Coordinate packaging strategies using prefabricated cartons, custom crating, and customer-specific skids/pallets to protect product integrity and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and optimize shipping routings; collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Planning to adjust schedules and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain shipping and export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Export Declarations, and Letters of Credit.
  • Coordinate domestic trucking and international freight logistics, serving as a key liaison between carriers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Administer daily parcel shipments and maintain carrier systems (UPS manifest), ensuring accuracy and cost-effective shipping practices.
  • Monitor shipping schedules and performance metrics to support 98%+ on-time delivery goals, proactively identifying and expediting past-due or high-priority orders.
  • Support inventory accuracy and control through order picking, staging, part verification, and participation in cycle count initiatives.
  • Perform material handling operations using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and company vehicles in compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Inspect, verify, and document incoming shipments; resolve discrepancies and ensure materials are properly recorded and documented.
  • Operate company vehicle to transport parts and materials as required.
  • Load outbound trucks and unload inbound shipments using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Maintain a safe, organized and clean work area and comply with company procedures and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to company goals and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior shipping experience, preferred
  • Must be very detail oriented and quality focused
  • Must have highly accurate data entry and computer skills
  • Must have strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Must use solid judgement and independent thinking
  • Must have a positive and professional demeanor
  • Must be capable of physical activity, including standing for up to 8 hours per day, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, loading and unloading trucks, etc.
