The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) is excited to announce the launch of our inaugural Badminton program! We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and visionary Head Badminton Coach to build and lead our brand-new team.
This is a unique opportunity to lay the foundation for OLP Badminton, establish a positive team culture, and guide our student-athletes in skill development, strategy, and sportsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Building: Establish and organize OLP’s first-ever badminton program, including tryouts, team selection, and practice schedules.
- Practice & Match Leadership: Plan and execute structured daily practices.
- Game Day Management: Lead and supervise the team during all home and away matches, tournaments, and CIF competition.
- Equipment & Facility Oversight: Assist in managing badminton equipment (nets, racquets, shuttlecocks) and court setup/breakdown.
- Culture & Values: Foster a supportive, high-energy environment that emphasizes teamwork, academic balance, sportsmanship, and OLP core values.
- Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and opposing coaches.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Playing or coaching experience in badminton is preferred.
· Strong understanding of competitive badminton rules, strategy, footwork, and training techniques.
· Demonstrated leadership ability and enthusiasm for building a program from the ground up.
· Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (or willingness to complete prior to start date).
· Completion of required NFHS/CIF coaching certifications and background checks.
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Commitment to the mission and values of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace.
Required Documents & Pre-Employment Requirements:
Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and two professional references from current or former supervisors. Candidates must also provide official transcripts, a current negative TB test result or TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire, complete required training, and successfully complete Livescan fingerprinting. Employment is contingent upon obtaining fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
