Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Overtime & Breaks: 30-minute paid lunch included daily (~30 minutes of standard OT per day)
Creative Security Company is seeking a highly skilled, professional Corporate Security & Reception Officer to manage lobby access, client escalation protocols, and overall site safety in Menlo Park, CA.
The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of progressive physical security experience, combining a strong command presence with exceptional customer service, technical proficiency, and calm de-escalation skills. In this role, you will serve as both the primary welcoming face of the facility and a contingency lead during safety or emergency situations.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccess Control & Lobby Management
- Primary Entrance Security: Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized access, verify credentials for employees, contractors, and visitors, and issue badges following strict check-in/check-out procedures.
- Deliveries & Visitor Logging: Maintain precise logs for all visitors, vendor access, and incoming deliveries.
- Customer Service: Assist employees and visitors in a calm, tactful, and courteous manner, providing directions and answering inquiries regarding building access and security policies.
Monitoring & Technical Operations
- Systems Oversight: Observe computer-based alarm systems, perform video reviews, and monitor security cameras—with emphasis on Genetec security platforms.
- Digital Scans & Tools: Utilize TrackTik on company-provided smartphones and laptops for post scans, activity logging, and reporting.
Patrols, Hazards & Emergency Response
- Facility Patrols: Perform regular foot patrols across the facility, parking lots, and building grounds to ensure physical perimeter security and verify post-order compliance.
- Contingency Lead: Assist with emergency evacuations, fire alarms, and security incidents. Maintain full familiarity with facility layouts, alarm zones, and emergency equipment locations.
- Hazard Reporting: Identify and immediately report maintenance issues, safety risks, or fire hazards to the Real Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) team for quick escalation and resolution.
De-Escalation & Incident Management
- De-Escalation & Policy: Comfortably de-escalate interactions with unauthorized individuals using calm communication. Maintain a strict "no hands" policy unless there is an imminent physical threat to self or others (observe and report).
- Emergency Dispatch: Coordinate directly with local law enforcement (911) or emergency responders when necessary.
Reporting & Shift Pass-Down
- Documentation: Author clear, detailed, and accurate Daily Activity Reports (DAR), pass-down notes, and incident reports on company computers/smartphones detailing causes, actions, and responses.
- Compliance & Professionalism: Adhere strictly to post orders, client escalation protocols, and site-specific guidelines (including strict adherence to professional phone/email use while on post).

- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of progressive responsibility and directly related experience in physical or site security.
- Certifications & Licenses:
- Active California BSIS Guard Card (or PPSO compliant within 90 days).
- Valid California Driver’s License (CADL).
- Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification.
- Formal De-Escalation training/certification preferred.
- Legal & Screening: U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency; no felony adjudications or convictions; ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.
- Technical Skills: Experience with physical security systems (Genetec experience is a major plus), CCTV monitoring, electronic badging software, and TrackTik.
- Core Competencies: Strong written/verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, adapt to ambiguity, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical & Logistics: Full fitness for duty—must be able to handle physical foot patrols, assist in emergency evacuations, and have reliable personal transportation.
