Description
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Edge Nights, taking increasing ownership over particular portions such as a Gather, Proclaim, or Send. 
  • Support the Coordinator of Edge in preparation, setup, and clean up for ministry. 
  • Assist with preparation for ministry including gathering & organizing supplies, visioning & executing environment components, and providing support for communication components (eg. Social media, website, etc.) 
  • Encourage and support Core Team members in their role of ministry. 
  • Seek to build support and communication with parents, parishioners, and staff members. 
  • Cultivate a deep prayer life as a foundation for ministry, contributing to areas of discernment and intercession. 
  • Contribute to creating and promoting ministry in a way that continually invites new youth, in all stages of discipleship, to participate. 
  • Attend staff meetings as required.  
  • Work cooperatively with St. Timothy Parish and School Staff 
  • Complete Diocesan Safe Environment Training annually & maintain all appropriate boundaries consistently. 
  • Adhere to personnel practices of the Diocese of Phoenix and applicable parish policies and procedures. 
  • Work a minimum of 8 hours in office during typical office hours (M-Th, 9-5) 
  • Perform any task deemed necessary by the Pastor or his delegate 
Requirements
  • Enthusiastically evangelize youth and form others to do so 
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing; faith-filled, Holy Spirit driven, self-motivated, imaginative, energetic and reliable 
  • Some experience of youth ministry (may be as a leader or participant) 
  • Knowledge of general technology (Canva, Flocknote, AV, etc.) 
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking 
  • Ability to work well with middle school and high school youth, parents and volunteers 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Must have initiative, creativity, sensitivity to the needs of people; sound judgment regarding individual and program needs 
  • Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive/personal information 
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions 
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends, as required (1-2 nights/week + 1 weekend/quarter on average) 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 
  • Must have reliable personal transportation 
  • Dedication to the community of St. Timothy and the Catholic Church by participating in liturgical celebrations, prayer and service, requested parish events, etc.
