We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our national accounts and digital sales team. This position will provide support to the team and be responsible for select administrative duties as needed. This role is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is driven, detail oriented, a great communicator, and is looking for a career in publishing sales. The Sales Assistant will work directly for and with the Sales Director, the larger US sales dept, and the editorial, marketing and operations groups. Ideal candidates will have some experience in publishing—particularly within a sales dept or in a customer-support role.
· Assist Sales Director and account managers with departmental day-to-day functions and queries
· Provide sales information and reporting
· Help manage and process incoming orders and sample requests
· Assist sales team as needed with creation of sales materials and presentations
· Assist sales team with sell-in title information grids and reports for accounts
Person specification - Knowledge, qualifications and experience
· Undergraduate degree
· Experience in an office environment
· Critical and analytical thinking skills
· Strong Excel and skills
· Ability to multitask while effectively prioritizing responsibilities and communications
· Create and maintain sales materials and documents with high attention to detail
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Understanding of the necessity of timely responses and consistent follow-up
· The ability to follow detailed directions as well as take initiative when necessary
· A motivated and curious self-starter interested in publishing
